Keynote speaker, women's leadership and life transition

Fifteen minutes that changes what a room is willing to say out loud.

Dr. Cheryl Burton speaks to women 45 and up at conferences, corporate summits, association events, faith-rooted gatherings, and retreats across the New York metro area and internationally.

A Black woman leader delivering a keynote address to a conference audience

For event organizers

Your attendees have heard the resilience talk. They have heard the lean-in talk. They have heard a woman in a good blazer tell them to believe in themselves.

They have not heard a seventy-nine year old psychotherapist tell them about the iron she used on her hair when she was fourteen, and the burn, and what her father said the next morning, and what it took her sixty-five years to understand about that sentence.

The room goes quiet. And then something happens that does not happen at most events. Women start telling each other the truth in the hallway afterward.

That is the deliverable. Not applause. Hallway conversations that go on for an hour after the session ended.

The signature keynote

Wounded. Not Broken.

Thirty-five to forty minutes · Five movements · For women 45 and up in life transition

The woman on the inside when the outside is holding. This talk goes down through the mask that got fitted in childhood, through the armor that got welded on in adulthood, to the wounds underneath both, and then it turns. It does not end in insight. It ends in an invocation, and the room is asked to do something specific before they go home.

Available at fifteen, forty, sixty, and eighty minutes. The eighty minute version includes a workshop element.
